Technical Assistance:
Discussed using clear plastic on the corners in the classrooms to protect the paint from chipping. Trim back the branches on the tree near the tall slide. Reviewed changes to the fingerprinting.

Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted from 9:10 am-12:45. There were a total of 119 children with 16 staff members present. Children were observed during snack time, engaged in group activities; color and shapes, letter P, sensory table,, matching games, "mad science" project, painting with Q tips, manipulatives and outdoor play time. A selection of staff and children records, medications and other documents were reviewed. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the violation notice. Violations:
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-270-A
Description: Based on observation, areas of the building are not maintained in a safe condition. Evidence: The drywall is cracked and paint peeling from the lower window ledge in the two's class.

Plan of Correction: We will contact maintenance to make the needed repairs.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-510-A
Description: Based on a review of medication and staff interview, the center did not follow the medication procedures. Evidence: Two medication forms were completed by parents to administer medication for 10 days. The parents failed to include that the medication should be administered as needed for 10 days. Staff stated that the parents said to administer the medications as needed.

Plan of Correction: Will request parents to write as needed on the form.
