Thank you for your assistance during this unannounced renewal inspection. This on-site visit was conducted on February 15, 2018 from 10:30 through 1:30 p.m. Upon arrival, there were nineteen (19) children in the care of four (4) staff. Five (5) children's and five (5) staff records were reviewed and updated. The records for four (4) board members were reviewed on February 23, 2018. The medication and medication paperwork was reviewed for two children. Areas of non-compliance may be found on the violation notice. Areas observed were: circle time, outside play, snack, educational centers, circle time, and departure. Interactions between the staff and children were observed as positive and the children seem comfortable with the daily routine and schedule. The children have been completing seasonal activities for the winter months. This preschool is well equipped with a variety of age/stage materials for the children in care. Standard #: 22VAC40-191-40-D-1-A Description: Based on record review, the center failed to obtain a central registry check for one new board member within 30 days of becoming an officer. Evidence: 1. Four board members records were reviewed. 2. New board member #3 did not have documentation of obtaining a central registry check within 30 days of becoming an officer. 3. The administrator confirmed the central registry check had not be obtained within 30 days. Plan of Correction: A central registry search has been completed and mailed for board member # 3. The licensing inspector will be notified when the results have been received.
