VENDSUB-000 SPECIAL CARE PROVISIONS AND EMERGENCIES
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today from 1:00pm to 2:00pm. There were 65 school age children present during today's Spring Break session directly supervised by 5 staff. The physical plant, children?s records, medications, evacuation drills, injury reports, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. Children were observed participating in group play, reading books, working on art projects, and praying on personal electronic devices. There was an abundant supply of materials for the children. The center was clean and organized. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-60-A Description: Based on record review, not all enrolled children has a file at the center. Evidence: Child 6 and Child 7 do not have a record on file with the center. Plan of Correction: The file was completed by the parent and returned to the center this morning.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-510-J Description: Based on observation, not all medication was kept in a locked place using a safe locking method that prevents access by children. Evidence: A box containing epinephrine auto injector pens was observed unlocked in a classroom cabinet. Plan of Correction: The medicine was placed in a locked cabinet, out of the reach of children.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-510-N Description: Based on review of medication, expired medication was not returned to the parent with 14 days of the expiration date. Evidence: Medication that expired 2/2018 belonging to Child 2 was present in the center today. Plan of Correction: The medication was returned to the parent upon pick up.
