An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted on Wednesday, March 28, 2018, to determine the program?s compliance with licensing standards. The licensing inspector was on site from approximately 4:20PM until 5:50PM. When the licensing inspector arrived there were 24 children being supervised by three staff members. Children were observed playing outside, playing board games, painting their hands to create flowers, building with legos and playing with cars. All areas used by children were inspected to include the classroom, hallways, bathrooms and outdoor areas. The facility was equipped with supplies and toys that were available for the children.
The following information was reviewed during the inspection: daily attendance, injury reports and injury plan, emergency drill logs, emergency supplies, parent agreements, liability insurance and menu. Last documented health inspection occurred on 12/14/2017 and the last documented fire inspection occurred on 12/29/2017. During the inspection, five children's records were reviewed. The required staff information was located at the facility. The complete staff records were reviewed previously at the off-site location. If you have any questions regarding this inspection, please contact Licensing Inspector, Lynn Powers at (804) 662-9790.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-280-B Description: Based on observation, the facility did not ensure all hazardous substances were kept in a locked place using a safe locking method that prevented access by children.
During the inspection, the licensing inspector observed the following:
1. On the bus used to transport children, there was a container of cleaner sitting unlocked by the bus door entrance.
2. The closet where containers of cleaners are located was unlocked.
Plan of Correction: Corrected during the inspection.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-550-E Description: Based on documentation review and interview, the facility did not ensure all evacuation drills were documented.
During the inspection, the licensing inspector observed the last evacuation drill was documented as 12/12/17. A member of management stated drills were completed in February and March but were not documented.
Plan of Correction: We will make sure all evacuation drills are documented when they occur.
A compliance history is in no way a rating for a facility.

In addition, the online compliance history includes information regarding adverse actions that may be the subject of a pending appeal. An adverse action is not final until a provider has exhausted or waived all due process rights. For compliance history prior to July 1, 2003, or information regarding the status of pending adverse actions, please contact the Licensing Inspector listed in the facility's information.
