An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today May 11, 2018 to determine the facilities compliance with licensing standards. The inspection was initiated at 1:00pm and concluded at 3:00 pm. At the time of the inspector's arrival children were getting up from nap, having bathroom breaks and preparing to attend the school pep rally. Children told the inspector what they thought a pep rally was showing her how you clap your hands to the beat of the music. Upon returning to the classroom children washed their hands and had snack at the table. Staff cleaned and sanitized the tables before children sat down. Later the class read a story and reviewed information about "buildings" as this has been the theme for the month. Children talked about the different types of buildings and what happens inside of buildings. Children also had time outside in the field area before preparing to go home. Staff were observed circulating throughout the classroom participating in activities and interacting in a positive manner. The classroom is equipped with age appropriate materials and supplies. Children play on the grass and blacktop area when outside. The first aid kit and non-medical emergency supplies were inspected and found complete. All required information was posted on the parent bulletin board to include the License, last inspection notice, emergency numbers, daily schedule, evacuation maps, allergy list and menu. The inspector interacted with staff and children in care. Three staff records and five children's records were reviewed. Medications and medication authorizations were reviewed. Staff on site have current MAT certification, CPR, First aid and daily health observation training. The most recent evacuation drill was documented on 04/23/2018. The two required shelter-in-place drills were conducted on 10/10/2017 and 10/19/2017. Health Inspection 01/31/2017 Fire Inspection 05/16/2017 Today's Ratio: eleven children with three staff. Violations cited at the previous inspections were checked for corrections. There were no repeat violations cited. If you have questions regarding this inspection, please contact the licensing inspector at 804-662-9758.
