During the inspection, the licensing representative discussed with staff requirements for meals brought from home and age appropriate supplies and materials. Staff files were also reviewed; however, a full review will be conducted at the primary Full Circle Montessori School location at a later date.
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today from 12:10pm-1:30pm. A total of 24 children were observed in the care of 2 staff at arrival. A third staff member arrived during the inspection. Children were observed during outdoor play, handwashing, lunch and afternoon dismissal. A sample of 5 children's records and 2 staff records were reviewed, in addition to medications, postings, outdoor play area, and emergency drills. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-350-E-4 Description: Based on observation, the ratio requirement [1 staff/10 children] for children 3 years old were not met. Evidence: Upon inspector arrival at 12:10pm, 17 children [where the youngest child was 3 years old] were observed in the care of 1 staff member. Another staff member arrived approximately 20 minutes later. Plan of Correction: We will maintain appropriate ratios.
