- Technical Assistance:
The licensing inspector conducted an unannounced monitoring inspection May 22, 2018 from approximately 2:50 PM until 5:45 PM. There were a total of 91 children being supervised by 11 staff members including the director during the inspection. The children were observed participating in a variety of activities. Children were observed playing, eating snack, playing outside, creating their own lake / park, playing with play-doh, building with legos, playing chess, designing clothes from various fabrics, creating with Aqua Beads, working puzzles and pretending to run a restaurant. Snack consisted of fresh fruit and milk. All other areas including KinderQuest and Cougar Quest along with the playgrounds, bathrooms and hallways were inspected. The facility was equipped with toys and supplies that were available to the children.
The following information was reviewed during the inspection: injury reports, daily attendance, emergency drill logs, emergency supplies, emergency preparedness plan, medication and medication authorizations, parent agreements, and staff training information. Last documented health inspection occurred on 05/10/2018 and the last documented fire inspection occurred on 11/03/2017.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-160-C Description: Based on review of 10 staff records, one staff did not obtain the required updated tuberculosis screening. Evidence: During the inspection, the licensing inspector observed the record for Staff #1 contained a tuberculosis screening dated 01/11/16. Negative tuberculosis screenings are required to be updated at least every two years from the initial screening. Plan of Correction: Per director - we will have all staff update their tuberculosis screening every year, prior to returning for the upcoming school year.
