22VAC40-191 Background Checks (22VAC40-191)
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today from approximately 9am-10:50am. There were 30 children in care directly supervised by 11 staff. A sample of 5 children?s records 5 and staff records were reviewed. The children were observed playing with balls, on the playground, during drop off and eating breakfast. Zero new staff have been hired since the last inspection. Areas of non-compliance are identified in this report. The exit interview was conducted with the provider. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-60-A Description: Based on record review, children's files were incomplete. Evidence: Child A was missing 1 of 2 required emergency contacts. Plan of Correction: Parent will provide a second emergency contact.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-280-B Description: Based on observation, hazardous substances such as cleaning materials were not kept in a locked place. Evidence: A cleaning substance labeled "bleach/water solution" was found hanging from a shelf in the bathroom of the "Believers" classroom. Plan of Correction: Corrected during inspection.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-290-3 Description: Based on observation, electrical outlets were not covered. Evidence: 2 outlets on the wall in the "Explorer's" classroom were not covered with protective covers. Plan of Correction: I will cover them immediately and call the electrician.
