The licensing inspector conducted an unannounced monitoring inspection, at which outside play, play groups, group time, story time, personal hygiene, lunch time, and rest time were observed. Children were observed; and staff and children files and other documentation were reviewed. Thirty-four (34) children, aged 10 months-4 years were found to be in care, with 6 staff, kitchen staff, and administrative staff. Previous violations were reviewed, and had been corrected. Please contact me if you need further assistance. Thank you for your cooperation. This inspection began at 10am and concluded at 1:40pm.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-330-B Description: Based on inspection of the playgrounds the facility failed to maintain compliance with this standard as required relating to depth of resilient surfacing. Evidence: The measured depth under and around all the outside climbing equipment was approximately 3 inches. All 3 playgrounds need more resilient surfacing in order to meet compliance with the ASTM guidelines for depth of surfacing as required. Plan of Correction: Mulch was obtained in January 2018. More mulch will be acquired and spread as soon as possible. Until it arrives, the current mulch will be fluffed to aide in meeting the required depth.
