Discussion on proper disposing of topicals that are no longer being used.
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted this date. A total of 104 children with 18 staff were present during the inspection. When the inspector arrived children were finishing lunch and transitioning to nap time. Lunch today was hamburgers, bananas and corn with milk to drink. Mats were observed in good repair and were furnished with a bottom and top covering. Staff were observed encouraging nap time for those that were still awake. Walk thru of all 7 classrooms was conducted. A total of 8 children's records and 4 staff records were reviewed. Previous violations from the December licensing inspection were reviewed and corrective actions were verified. Thank you for your cooperation today. Please email me at email@example.com
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-510-C Description: Based on review of medication, the center did not follow their own procedures for administering medication. Evidence: Benadryl for Child #1 was adminstered on 5/8/18 and 5/9/18. This medication expired in March 2018. The center failed to follow their own procedures to prevent the use of outdated medication. Plan of Correction: We will request a new bottle of Benadryl for this child and dispose of the old one.
