Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted from 12:15 pm - 1:45 pm. There were 29 children in care being supervised by 7 staff members. The children were observed participating in outdoor play, eating lunch, and preparing to swim. Lunch is provided from home. Ten children's records were reviewed and in compliance. Five staff records were reviewed and in compliance. Two medication's were reviewed. Violations:
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-510-G
Description: Based on observation and interview it was determined that not all policies in regards to administering medication were followed. Evidence: The two emergency medications observed for child A did not have parental authorization.

Plan of Correction: Administration will obtain parental authorization from the parents of Child A for the two medications.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-520-B
Description: Based on observation of the daycare area it was determined that not all sunscreen was kept inaccessible to children. Evidence: Five bottle of sunscreen were observed throughout the classrooms with the children's belongings. Children were instructed to gather their sunscreen so that staff could help apply.

Plan of Correction: Sunscreen will be kept inaccessible to children.
