22VAC40-185 PHYSICAL PLANT.

The licensing inspector conducted an unannounced monitoring inspection Wednesday June 13, 2018 from 09:58am to 12:23pm. The children were observed playing outside on the playground. The infants were observed playing with toys, sleeping, being fed and being held. All classrooms and playgrounds were inspected today as well as the facility?s mini buses. Five children?s records and five employee records were reviewed during this inspection. The center administers medication; however they did not have any being given at this time. The center's first aid kit and emergency supplies were inspected. Last emergency drill: 05/09/2018 Last shelter-in-place drills: 04/12/2018 Last fire inspection: 12/11/2017 Last health inspection: 01/23/2018 Total enrollment today: 55 Today, the following child to staff ratios were observed: Infants ?15:4 Toddlers ?8:2 Twos? 11:2 Threes ?14:2 Pre-K-7:1 School Age ? not The violations from the previous inspections were checked for corrections. There were no repeat violations found during today?s inspection. If you have any questions about this inspection, please contact the licensing inspector, Roshon Casey, at (804) 662-9760. PROVIDER: Please complete the ?plan of correction? and ?date to be corrected? for each violation cited on the violation notice and return it to me within 5 business days from today. You will need to specify how the deficient practice will be or has been corrected. Just writing the word ?corrected? is not acceptable. Your plan of correction must contain: 1) steps to correct the noncompliance with the standard(s), 2) measures to prevent the noncompliance from occurring again; and 3) person(s) responsible for implementing each step and/or monitoring any preventative measures. Please do not use staff names; list staff by positions only.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-330-B Description: Based on observation on 06/13/2018, the center did not ensure that where playground equipment is provided, resilient surfacing shall comply with minimum safety standards. EVIDENCE: The mulch on the preschool playground measured less than six inches. Plan of Correction: Director put in a work order to have mulch delivered. Mulch will be delivered by 06/29.
