Comments:
An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted on Wednesday, June 20, 2018, from approximately 10:00am until 2:15pm. Present today were:
Infants: eight children with two staff
Toddlers: sixteen children with four staff
Younger Twos: (Room 5) six children with one staff
Two's: sixteen children with two staff
Three's: ten children with one staff
Four's: fourteen children with two staff
K: thirteen children with two staff
School age on field trip (33 children with 3 staff)
Classroom observations were made during today's inspection. Children were completing puzzles, building with bristle blocks, forming the letter "Uu" in shaving cream, creating "T" tigers, designing with play dough and raking noodles in sensory bins. The youngest children were having floor play and receiving individual attention.

Lunch: Cheeseburgers, carrots, oranges and milk
Practice shelter-in-place: 3/20/18
Practice evacuation: 5/18/18
All emergency supplies were inspected.
Out of twenty-five staff, eleven staff are currently certified in Daily Health Observation, twenty-one staff are currently certified in first aid and CPR, seven staff are currently certified in Medication Administration.
Ten children's records and ten staff records were inspected.

Violations:
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-500-B
Description: Based on observations, the center did not ensure there was a nonabsorbent surface for diapering. Evidence: Out of four classrooms with diaper changing stations, in Room #6, both diaper changing mats were torn resulting in an absorbent surface.

Plan of Correction: Per Center: Providing new changing pads in the cited room and staff will be retrained to notify management when it is needed.
