Discussed the emergency plan.
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted from 7:50am-945am. At the time of entrance, 74 children were in care with 5 staff members present. Children were observed during snack time, washing hands, check in procedures and engaged in a group game of tag inside the gym. A selection of staff and children records, medications and other documents were reviewed. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the violation notice. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-510-N Description: Based on review of medications, the center failed to returned a medication to the parent when an authorization for medication expired. Evidence: 1. Child F had a long term medication authorization with a doctor's signature date of 6/16/2017 and a parent's signature of 8/21/2017. This form expired on 6/16/2018 and the center did not return the medication or dispose of it within 14 days. Plan of Correction: I will have the parent sign the form today and get it updated.
