Comments:
The licensing inspector conducted an unannounced monitoring inspection from 9:15am - 12:30pm. There were thirty one children in care: fourteen children ages 2 - 3 downstairs with three staff and seventeen children ages 3 - 5 upstairs with three staff. The children were observed playing on the playground, listening to a story, during lunch and preparing for naps. Five staff's records and five children's records were reviewed. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-240-C
Description: Based on record reviews, the center failed to have staff obtain 16 hours of annual training. Evidence: 1. The inspector reviewed five staff's records. One of five records reviewed (staff record #3) had documentation of nine hours of annual training. Staff's date of employment is 01/27/17 and staff should have completed 16 hours of training by 01/26/2018.

Plan of Correction: Staff is currently working on obtaining the training hours. Staff #3 should have the required training hours completed by the end of August.
