Technical Assistance:
A return inspection will be conducted next month to set up a system for staff files, medication and general organization.

Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted beginning at 9:00 and ending at 11:40. There are 57 campers ages 5 - 12. Campers were observed participating in physical activities in the gym, working on computers, doing art/craft activities. All groupings were in appropriate ratio for the age groups. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-270-A
Description: Based on observations the center shall be maintained in a clean, safe and operable condition. Evidence: The boys bathroom had a urine odor and the floor was slippery which could cause a fall hazard.

Plan of Correction: The Director will check all rooms for safety hazards and remind staff to notify management about hazards.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-280-B
Description: Based on observations, potentially hazardous substances such as cleaning agents were stored in an area that is inaccessible to children. Evidence: A spray bottle labeled with glass cleaner was located on a table and a spray bottle labeled with all purpose cleaner stored on top of a cabnet was in the art room. In the kitchen two gallon size all purpose cleaners were stored in an unlocked cabnet under the kitchen sink.

Plan of Correction: Staff will be reminded to keep all cleaning products in a locked place.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-510-A
Description: Based on review of two medications, the center did not have written authorized to administer medication. Evidence: Child A and Child B did not have written authorization on file from a parent and a physician to administer medication.

Plan of Correction: The DayCare Director will get a 10 day parent permission to administer medication form and then a long term form from the parent and physician.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-550-D
Description: Based on a review of the log of emergency evacuation, shelter in place and lock down drills, it was determined that not all drills were conducted or documented. Evidence: The ere was no documentation of any drills for the month of July. There was no documentation of any emergency escape drills for the year.

Plan of Correction: The Daycare Director will maintain an accurate log of the drills to include, the date, time, type of drills, number of children, number of staff.
