Also: health certificate from your food provider.
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today from 9:45 - 1 pm. There were 51 children present with 7 staff. I observed children learning about the calm and angry of the ocean with a parachute; coloring in a "shell", learning about pearls, and involved in self-initiated Montessori projects. I also observed lunch. The playground was under construction today and will not be used until the project is complete. If you have any questions, please contact me at email@example.com
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-270-A Description: Based on observation during today's inspection, not all areas were maintained in a safe condition. Evidence: During today's inspection, one classroom with preschool-aged children had accessible blind strings on all windows. Plan of Correction: Staff will be talked to about this.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-510-J Description: Based on observation during today's inspection, some medications were not locked as required. Evidence: While some medications were stored in a child-proof approved bag, some other medications were stored in a baggie inside an unlocked backpack. Plan of Correction: We will order a lock that staff can operate easily but not meant for children.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-510-N Description: During today's inspection, a medication was on-site that was no longer authorized. Evidence: A child's medication was authorized by the parent and did not have physician's authorization. The authorization expired 3/18, was not renewed and was still available at the center. Plan of Correction: We will send the medication home this week.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-550-M Description: Based on a review of incident reports today, some required information was missing. Evidence: Of six injury reports reviewed today, there was no documentation of any future action to prevent recurrence of the injury for any of the reports; and 3 reports did not have the time and method that the parent was notified. Plan of Correction: I will go over the with staff how to complete the form and add the "Future Action" statement.
