A complaint was received in the licensing office regarding class supervision, loud music playing and overall classroom organization. An onsite investigation was conducted on August 10, 2018. Based upon interviews and observations, the preponderance of evidence dose not support the allegation. Violations cited today were found during the course of the investigation not part of the investigation. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-260-A Complaint related: No Description: Based on review, an annual fire inspection was not documented. Evidence: Current posted fire inspection expired 4/30/18. Plan of Correction: A call was placed to Fairfax County Fire office, they have record of being at the Center to complete an inspection on April 9, 2018. They will come out again next week to follow up on the inspection.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-270-A Complaint related: No Description: Based om observation not all areas of the center are being maintained in a clean and safe condition. Evidence: 1. Peeling and chipped paint was observed accessible to children was observed in the Intermediates, Pre K 1, and Pre K 2 rooms. Plan of Correction: A call was placed to our maintance department, they will be out next week to repaint. There seems to be an issue with the paint they used last time.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-280-B Complaint related: No Description: Based on observation, potentially hazardous substances such as cleaning agents were stored in an area that was not inaccessible to children. Evidence: Hazardous substances, such as, cleaning supplies, bug spray, suntan lotion, Borax and plant food, were accessible to children in an unlocked cabinet in the Intermediates, Pre K 2 and Summer Camp rooms. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-290-3 Complaint related: No Description: Based on observation, the Center failed to cover all unused electrical outlets accessible to children under five years of age with child-resistant protective covers. Evidence: An outlet in the Intermediate rooms was observed uncovered, accessible to children. Plan of Correction: Corrected on site
