The licensing inspector conducted an unannounced monitoring inspection, at which play groups, breakfast time, outdoor time, activities, story time, games, art, and personal hygiene were observed. Children were observed; and staff and children files and other documentation were reviewed. There were 104 children, aged 4 months-13 years, found to be in care with 13 staff, administrative staff, and kitchen staff. Previous violations were reviewed, and had been corrected. Please contact me if you need further assistance. Thank you for your cooperation. This inspection began at 8:40am and concluded at 11am.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-510-D Description: Based on review of medications the facility failed to maintain compliance with this standard as required relating to authorization to administer medication. Evidence: The medication for Child A, epi-pen, did not have a current authorization to administer in an emergency as required. The form available had expired as of 8/1/18. Plan of Correction: The facility will provide the parent with a new form to have the doctor complete for long term use. The parent will also complete the 10 day medication authorization in the mean time.
