An unannounced monitoring inspection was done today 8/23/2018 beginning at 8:00 AM and ending at 12:30 PM. There were 42 children present. Five children's and six staff's records were reviewed during the inspection. Outside time, breakfast, playtime, Lunch and nap were observed, policies and procedures and a physical plant inspection was completed. Discussion with director and staff about: finger print procedures, adding additional space for school age children.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-270-A Description: Based on observation of the infant room, the center failed to ensure that all areas and equipment of the center inside and outside shall be maintained in a clean, safe and operable condition. Evidence: 1. Observed the adult chair in the infant room that has two cracks on the seats. Plan of Correction: The seat was removed from the room during the inspection.
Standard #: 63.2-1720.1-A Description: Based on review of six staff record's the center failed to ensure that all records were complete with a returned letter of eligibility for employment prior to starting work. Evidence: 1. Staff # 4 started work on 5/16/2018 and the letter of eligibility for employment was dated 5/212/2018. 2. Staff # 6 started work on 7/10/2018 and the letter of eligibility for employment was dated 7/16/2018. Plan of Correction: The director will ensure that all new staff will not start until the letter has returned.
