Discussed the preparation of a lockdown plan.
A Subsidy Health and Safety inspection was conducted on 8/28/18 to review supplemental health and safety requirements. There were 45 children in care of 8 staff members. The children were observed playing with toys, singing songs and eating lunch. A licensing inspection was also conducted this date; the two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. Violations were found during the supplemental subsidy health and safety inspection requirements and are identified on the violation notice. Standard #: VENDSUB-000-012-E-1 Description: Based on record review, center staff did not obtain the current certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). Evidence: 1. Staff # 1 was hired on 1/22/18 and did not obtain the CPR certification within 30 days of hire. 2. Staff # 2 was hired on 6/27/17 and did not obtain the CPR certification within 30 days of hire. Plan of Correction: Staff will be getting the training on 8/31/18.
Standard #: VENDSUB-000-012-E-2 Description: Based on record review, center staff did not obtain the current certification in First Aid. Evidence: 1. Staff # 1 was hired on 1/22/18 and did not obtain the First Aid certification within 30 days of hire. 2. Staff # 2 was hired on 6/27/17 and did not obtain the First Aid certification within 30 days of hire. Plan of Correction: Staff will be getting the training on 8/31/18.
Standard #: VENDSUB-000-031-A Description: Based on record review and staff interview, the center did not have a written emergency preparedness plan for a lockdown. Evidence: Upon asking Staff # 3, the licensing inspector was notified that the center did not have a written lockdown plan. Plan of Correction: Plan and procedures for lockdown drills will be out in place.
Standard #: VENDSUB-000-032-A Description: Based on staff interview, the lockdown drill was not practiced at least once a year. Evidence: Staff # 3 stated that she thought the shelter in place is the same thing as the lockdown. Staff # 3 stated that a lockdown drill had not been practiced. Plan of Correction: We will conduct the annual lockdown and document it.
