Areas Reviewed:

A written request to modify the license for Lyn Cag Moneta Head Start Center was received by the Piedmont Licensing Office on July 13, 2018. The Center is requesting to relocate the Head Start program to another physical address which is located at 1077 Town Circle Way, Moneta, Virginia. Several other licensed child day centers have operated previously in this building. A current fire and health inspection was also provided to the Licensing Office. The program is scheduled to open on September 4, 2018. The Licensee is requesting a licensed capacity for 20 children which is the current licensed capacity. Currently, the Head Start program will operate in one classroom and will use the multipurpose room for meals and other children's activities. The building will also house an administrative office for Head Start staff. A site inspection was conducted at the center on August 3, 2018 by Licensing Inspector Elaine Moore. Administrative staff from Lyn Cag Head Start were present during the inspection. The LI inspected the building and grounds and verified room measurements. Per administrative staff, the program has ordered resilient surfacing for the fenced play ground. The surfacing will be in place prior to the children's attendance. The modification request will be processed and a license issued to reflect the Center's current address in Moneta. If I may be of further assistance, please call (540)309-2310. Thank you.
