Comments:
An unannounced renewal study was conducted on 8/23/2018 from 9:30 am - 10:45 am at the childcare facility. Staff records were reviewed off site at the Head Start headquarters on 08/31/2018 from 8:30am - 9:30 am. There were 15 children in care being supervised by 2 staff members. The children were observed participating in table top activities and outdoor play. Morning Snack served was cereal, orange juice, and milk. Ten children's records were reviewed and in compliance. Five staff, drivers, and agent record's were reviewed and in compliance. One medication was reviewed. There are currently two staff members on site who are MAT (Medication Administration Training) certified. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-510-G
Description: Based on review of one medication it was determined that not all policies for administering prescription medication were followed. Evidence: The emergency medication for child A was not maintained in the original labeled container accompanied by a prescription label to identify the name, date of birth, dosage, and instructions for administering the medication.

Plan of Correction: Staff will request the medication for child A be accompanied by a prescription label in the original container. Corrected 08/24/2018.
