Today an unannounced renewal study was conducted beginning at 2:45pm and ended at 4:20pm. There were 65 children present today with 4 staff. Children were observed playing (coloring, lincoln logs, mancala, doll houses) in small groups and playing freely in the gym. Hand washing was observed and the children had an afternoon snack (cheeze it crackers and 100% juice) Children?s records, medications and emergency drills were reviewed. Staff records are reviewed annually in the administrative office. Please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions or clarification needed.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-510-A Description: Based on a review of medications and written authorizations, one child does not have a written authorization to administer medication. Evidence: Child #2 has emergency medication kept on-site in case of an accidental ingestion of an allergen. The program has not obtained a written authorization from the parents to administer the medication. Plan of Correction: We have provided the parents with this form and it has not been returned. We will have the parents fill out the short-term authorization at pick up today and then we will make sure the long-term authorization gets filled out by the doctor.
