- Technical Assistance:
Discussed documentation of references when conducted by a third party. Review labels for food brought from home to ensure food policies are in compliance.
An unannounced renewal was completed from 8:30-10:45 AM. Classrooms, outside play area, and rations were observed. Files, medication, special care provisions, and attendance records were also reviewed. Children were observed outside and water was made available. Ratios were in compliance and staff were aware of children with possible special care considerations. Please call with questions 703-479-4679
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-60-A-7 Description: Based on record review, the center does not have the parent's plan of action in an emergency situation for child #1. Evidence: 1. Child #1 has listed food allergies that physical report states as severe but parent has not given a plan of action in the event child is exposed to the allergens. Plan of Correction: To contact the parent and have a plan of action completed immediately. We will also follow up with an email.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-260-A Description: Based on interviews and record review, the annual fire inspection report is past due. Evidence: 1. Staff stated inspection has not been completed. 2. Permit expired on July 30, 2018. Plan of Correction: We have already contact the Fire Marshall's office and will follow up.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-440-A Description: Based on observation, cribs were not provided to 2 sleeping infants. Evidence: 1. At 9:20 AM, 2 infants were laying face down on boppy pillows as a staff was rubbing their backs. Inspector stated they needed to be placed in cribs. 2. Inspector walked back into infant room at 9:45 AM, and the 2 infants were asleep on the floor and on top of the boppy pillows. Plan of Correction: Disciplinary action for the staff.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-440-L Description: Based on observation, the staff used pillows for two children under two years of age. Evidence: 1. Two infants were left sleeping, face down, on boppy pillows from 9:20-9:45 AM. Plan of Correction: Disciplinary action for staff that allowed them to fall asleep on the pillows.
