63.2 Facilities and Programs..
An unannounced monitoring inspection was completed on 09/13/2018. There were 15 children, ages 3 year-4 years, 2 staff providing direct care and supervision and one bus driver present during today's inspection. The inspector reviewed 5 children's records during the inspection. The staff records will be reviewed at a later date at the corporate office location. There is currently no medication being administered at the center. The inspector observed the children in the following activities: having breakfast in the classroom, participating in music and movement, during circle time, centers/free choice play, and brushing teeth. The inspector reviewed the emergency evacuation plans and emergency supplies during the inspection today. The children will be taking a field trip to the local library later today; the inspector reviewed Bus #8 for the required field trip transportation documents and emergency supplies during today's inspection. The inspector discussed the following with the provider: field trip procedures, hand washing, sharing space with the public school system, and resources for staff and children in care. The licensing inspector reminded site staff that all staff are required to have fingerprinting completed by September 30, 2018. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-260-A Description: Based on observations, document review and discussion with the staff, the facility failed to obtain an annual fire inspection report from the appropriate fire official having jurisdiction. Evidence: The most recent fire inspection report available on-site was dated 08/16/2017. Plan of Correction: The staff will work with the school administration to obtain a copy of an updated fire inspection.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-280-H Description: Based on observations and discussion with the staff, the facility failed to ensure that purses containing cosmetics, medications or other harmful agents shall not be stored in areas accessible to children. Evidence: There was a purse sitting on top of the teachers desk that was slightly unzipped. The inspector could see a bottle of medication inside of the purse when asking site staff about the purse. The purse was accessible to the children. Plan of Correction: All site staff will lock purses up when inside the classroom.
