A Subsidy Health and Safety inspection was conducted on September 14, 2018 from approximately 1:35 PM to 4:30 PM to review supplemental health and safety requirements. The following staff to child ratios were observed: Infants and Toddlers 3:9, 2 years olds 1:9 (napping) and later 2:9, 2 and 3 year olds 1:8, 3 and 4 year olds 1:16 (napping) and later 2:16, 4 and 5 year olds 1:11 (napping) and later 2:11, School age 1:17. Staff were observed to be interacting with children appropriately. Today's lunch consisted of sunbutter and jelly sandwiches, carrots with ranch, fruit cocktail, cookies and milk. All areas of the facility including classrooms, bathrooms, kitchen, hallways, buses, and playground were inspected. The facility had the following posted: license, last inspection, evacuation maps/procedures, daily schedule, menu, and various parent information. Seven children's records and seven staff records were reviewed. Allergy action plans and medications were reviewed. The first aid kit and non-medical emergency supplies were inspected and found complete. Emergency drills had been conducted and were documented. A licensing inspection was conducted on the same date as the SHSI supplemental inspection; the two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. No violations of the supplemental subsidy health and safety requirements were found. If you have any questions in reference to this inspection, please contact the licensing inspector at 804-662-9092.
