Comments:
A Subsidy Health and Safety inspection was conducted on September 18, 2018 from approximately 9:15 AM to 12:40 PM to review supplemental health and safety requirements. The director was present for the inspection. The child to staff ratios were deemed in compliance with licensing standards. The census today consisted of 36 children. The following child to staff ratios were observed in the children's groups: Infants 4:2, Toddlers 8:2, Transitions One (younger 2 year olds) 6:1, Transitions 2 (older 2 year olds) 7:1, 3 year olds 5:1, 4 year olds 6:1. School age children were not present during the inspection. The licensing inspector observed children participating in a variety of activities. The staff were observed to be engaged with the children in age appropriate activities and to be meeting the needs of the children in care. Today's lunch consisted of whole grain turkey sausage pizza, corn, peaches, and milk. All areas of the facility including classrooms, buses, bathrooms, kitchen, hallways, and outdoor play area were inspected. The facility had the following posted: license, last inspection, emergency numbers, evacuation maps/procedures, daily schedule, menu, allergy information and various parent information. There were several staff on site with current MAT, Daily Health Observation, CPR and First Aid certifications. The first aid kit and non-medical emergency supplies were inspected and found complete. 5 children's records and 5 staff records were reviewed. Allergy action plans and medications were reviewed. Emergency drills had been conducted and were documented. A licensing inspection was conducted on the same date as the SHSI supplemental inspection; the two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. No violations of the supplemental subsidy health and safety requirements were found. If you have any questions in reference to this inspection, please contact the licensing inspector at 804-662-9092.
