An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today September 18, 2018 to determine the facilities compliance with licensing standards. The inspector arrived at 11:00 am and concluded the inspection at 1:30 pm. There were twelve children in care with two staff and one additional staff (a family advocate). Upon the inspector's arrival children were in the school cafeteria having lunch. Today's lunch consisted of black beans, carrots with dip, BBQ sandwich, fruit and milk. Staff assisted with opening containers and encouraged children to try as well. Upon returning from lunch, children had time on the playground. In the classroom room children had bathroom breaks, wash their hands and prepared for nap. Soft music was played while staff sat and patted the backs of the children who were having a hard time adjusting. All areas of the center were inspected to include the main hallway, cafeteria, bathroom, classroom and outdoor playground area. The facility had all required information posted to include: the License, last inspection notice, emergency numbers, menu, evacuation map/information, daily schedule along with various parent information and lesson plans. The classroom had age and stage appropriate materials. The first aid kit and non-medical supplies were inspected and found complete. The inspector interacted with staff and children in care. Five children's records and three staff records were reviewed. Staff have current CPR, first aid, daily health observation training and MAT. Per the administer, no medications are currently being administered. An evacuation drill was conducted on 09/12/2018. The two required shelter-in-place drill for the 2017-2018 year were documented on 09/29/2017 and 03/20/2018.
