An unannounced renewal study was conducted today from 9:55am to 11:45am. 30 children were directly supervised by 4 staff members. The physical space, 4 staff records, 6 children's records, evacuation drills, attendance records, the menu, emergency supplies and medications were reviewed. Required documents were posted. The children were observed in large motor play, writing, building with blocks and interacting with the staff members. Interactions were positive. Classrooms were clean, organized and contained an abundance of age appropriate materials. Developmentally appropriate artwork was displayed throughout the facility. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice. For questions regarding this inspection, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-350-C Description: Based on record review and staff interviews, the staff-to-child ratio was not in compliance for the Toddlers class. Evidence: For staffing purposes, the Infant classroom was combined with the Toddler classroom from 9:48am to 10:15am. During that time, 4 Toddlers and 1 infant were directly supervised by 1 staff member. The staff-to-child ratio applicable to the youngest child in the group was not applied to the entire group. Plan of Correction: We had two teachers out today and the earliest I could get one in was at 10:15. I was constantly checking on the class until the teacher arrived. This is the first time we've had multiple teachers out.
A compliance history is in no way a rating for a facility.

In addition, the online compliance history includes information regarding adverse actions that may be the subject of a pending appeal. An adverse action is not final until a provider has exhausted or waived all due process rights. For compliance history prior to July 1, 2003, or information regarding the status of pending adverse actions, please contact the Licensing Inspector listed in the facility's information. The Virginia Department of Social Services (VDSS) is not responsible for any errors in or omissions from the compliance history information.
