Today an unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted between the hours of 2:50pm and 4:50pm. I observed 34 children directly supervised by 2 staff. Ratios and supervision were in compliance. Children were observed, doing homework, doing crafts, playing on the playground, and participating in group play. Staff were actively engaged with the children and assisting them with tasks as needed. The physical plant, 5 children?s records, medications, evacuation drills, injury reports, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. The cafeteria was found to be clean, safeguarded appropriately, and adequately supplied with equipment and supplies. Medication management was in compliance. Required staff training documents were on-site. Emergency preparedness supplies in order. Required documents posted. Record keeping was in compliance. Questions about this inspection may be directed to: email@example.com
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-320-B Description: Based on observation and staff interview, children are using a toilet that is not flushable, and a restroom that does not have a sink supplied with running water, and it's not equipped with soap and disposable towels. Evidence: Two children were observed using a portable toilet on the playground. The portable toilet unit did not have a flushable toilet, running water, soap, or disposable towels. Plan of Correction: We won't use the portable toilet anymore, we will have the kids use the bathroom inside.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-500-A Description: Based on observation, children's hands were not washed with soap and running water after using the bathroom. Evidence: Two children were observed going into the portable toilet located near the playground to use the bathroom. The children did not wash their hands after using the bathroom because the unit did not have soap or water for them to wash their hands, only hand sanitizer was available inside the unit. Plan of Correction: We will make sure children wash their hands after using the bathroom.
