The licensing inspectors conducted an unannounced subsidy health and safety inspection Wenesday, September 26, 2018 from 1:20pm to 4:10pm to review supplemental health and safety requirements. The children were observed resting on cots and mats. The infants were observed getting a diaper change, sleeping and playing on the floor with a teacher. The school age class was observed arriving to the center after school. All classrooms and playgrounds were inspected today as well as the facility?s mini buses. Five children?s records and five employee records were reviewed during this inspection. The center administers medication; however they did not have any being given at this time. The center's first aid kit and emergency supplies were inspected. Last emergency drill: 8/27/2018 Shelter-in-place drills: 7/24/2018 & 09/17/2018 Last fire inspection: 7/18/2018 Last health inspection: 9/21/2018 Total enrollment today: 36 Today, the following child to staff ratios were observed: Infants ?4:2 Toddlers ?7:1(rest time ratio) Twos ? 8:1 (rest time ratio) Preschool & Pre-K ?9:1 School Age ?8: 1 A licensing inspection was also conducted this date; the two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. Violations were found during the supplemental subsidy health and safety inspection requirements and are identified on the violation notice. If you have any questions about this inspection, please contact your licensing inspector, Roshon Casey, at (804) 662-9760. PROVIDER: Please complete the ?plan of correction? and ?date to be corrected? for each violation cited on the violation notice and return it to me within 5 business days from today. You will need to specify how the deficient practice will be or has been corrected. Just writing the word ?corrected? is not acceptable. Your plan of correction must contain: 1) steps to correct the noncompliance with the standard(s), 2) measures to prevent the noncompliance from occurring again; and 3) person(s) responsible for implementing each step and/or monitoring any preventative measures. Description: Based on a review of staff records on 09/26/2018, the center did not ensure that all staff providing care to children shall have a current first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certification within 30 days of the date of employment. EVIDENCE: 1. The record of Staff #3, whose start date was 08/23/2018, did not contain documentation of first aid and cpr.
