An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted today from 10:30am-12:00pm. There were 29 children directly supervised by 4 staff. The physical plant, staff training records, 5 children?s records, medications, evacuation drills, injury reports, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. Children were observed in large group time learning the letter "A", reading books, preparing for a snack of apples, and singing songs led by the teacher. Teachers were observed leading smooth transitions between activities and helping children to clean up after themselves. Hand-washing procedures were also observed. There was an abundant supply of materials for the children. There was an adequate number of staff with current certification in MAT, CPR and First Aid, as well as DHO training. Staff-to-child ratios were in compliance. Staff files are reviewed twice annually during an administrative file review. The center was clean and organized. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice. If you have any questions regarding this inspection, please contact the Licensing Inspector, Kara Wright at email@example.com or 703-537-6241.
