A Subsidy Health and Safety inspection was conducted on on Tuesday, October 2, 2018 from approximately 8:50 am to 11:15 am to review supplemental health and safety requirements. The licensing inspector observed 22 children being supervised by 4 staff including the site supervisor. During the inspection, the licensing inspector conducted observations of the children in care participating in various activities to include transitioning from am snack, completing bathroom breaks, participating in days of the week and current date activity, name recognition, and discussing the weather, dancing to interactive songs, and working in centers. The licensing inspector also completed observation of parent drop off. The program's designated childcare areas, bathrooms, and outdoor playground area were inspected. The first aid kit and emergency supplies were inspected. There were five children's records reviewed by the inspector. The licensing inspector reviewed four staff's emergency contact and required certificate of completion. A licensing inspection was also conducted this date; the two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. Violations were found during the supplemental subsidy health and safety inspection requirements and are identified on the violation notice. If you have any questions about this inspection, please contact you licensing inspector, Tiffany Harris, at (757)-403-3045.
Standard #: VENDSUB-000-005-B Description: Based on observation of recordkeeping and interview with staff, the center did not ensure daily attendance that documents arrival and departure as it occurs. Evidence: During the inspection on October 2, 2018, a review of the daily attendance log was completed and the arrival time for one child out of twenty children in care was not complete. Interview and review of the log by the staff confirmed the arrival time was not documented. Plan of Correction: The Center Supervisor will ensure all parents complete documentation of arrival on a daily basis.
