Comments:
Today an unannounced Renewal Inspection was conducted between the hours of 9:50am and 12:30pm. There was 1 classroom observed with a total of 8 children with 2 staff within the supervision guidelines. The children were observed finishing their morning snack, working on learning numbers in English and in Russian and playing freely. A complete inspection of the physical plant, children and staff records, fire drill log, medication and emergency procedures were observed during this inspection. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me at whitney.mcgrath@dss.virginia.gov. Thank you for your cooperation during this inspection.

Violations:
Standard #: 22VAC40-191-60-C-2
Description: Based on record review and interview, the center does not have documentation of central registry findings (CPS background check) for one employee within 30 days of employment. Evidence: Staff #3 (date of hire: 5/5/09) file does not contain the results of a central registry background check. There are two copies of a completed central registry check in the employee's file, however the results of the checks have not been received and there is no documentation of when the background checks were mailed to the appropriate agency. Center management states that the background check agency has misplaced their payment for the background check and a new check needed to be sent. There is no documentation of when this conversation took place.

Plan of Correction: We will document when we send our checks out.
