An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted with the director beginning at 3:55 PM and ending at 5:45 PM. There were eighteen children in the care of two staff during the inspection. The children's ages ranged between 5 and 9 years old. The children were observed playing soccer and basketball in the auxiliary gym. The children were also observed doing homework, reading books, and doing arts and craft activities. Six children's records and two staff records were reviewed and in compliance. The emergency escape drill log was reviewed. One medication was reviewed and in compliance. The first aid kit, flashlight, and weather-band radio were observed and in compliance. The most recent fire inspection was documented as 12/18/17. The most recent health inspection was documented as 6/7/18. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-550-D Description: Based on a review of documentation, the center did not conducted practice evacuation drills on a monthly basis as required. Evidence: There was no documentation for a practice evacuation drill for the month of June. Plan of Correction: The director stated that the drill was conducted but not documented. The center will ensure that all practice drills will be documented going forward.
