22VAC40-191 Background Checks (22VAC40-191)
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today from 9:00am-11:10am. There were 52 children directly supervised by 11 staff. The physical plant, 5 staff records, 5 children?s records and policies were inspected. Children were observed participating in group play, reading books, painting, singing, and playing outside. Diapering and hand-washing procedures were also observed. There was an abundant supply of materials for the children. The center was clean and organized. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-60-A Description: Based on record review, the center did not maintain complete records for each child. Evidence: Child 1 - 5 did not have a second parent work information and work phone number. Plan of Correction: We will create a separate attachment with all required information.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-270-A Description: Based on observation, areas in the center were not kept in a safe condition. Evidence: 1) In the gross motor room, there was peeling paint in the left corner of the room and there was a windowsill with exposed drywall. 2) In the Pre K room, there was peeling paint in the right corner. 3) The door arm to the door leading outside is hanging down and is taped to the wall. Plan of Correction: We will put in a work order for maintenance.
