Comments:
An announced Initial Licensing Inspection was conducted today with the Principal, Director, the Cadence Regional Director and the Cadence Director of Acquisitions. The inspection began at 9:05am and ended at 12:00pm. 154 children were directly supervised by 23 staff members. All classrooms were in compliance with appropriate ratios. The physical space was inspected and areas were well supplied with age appropriate materials. Measurements of classrooms were completed. Staff records, Children?s records, medication procedures, emergency supplies, the menu, daily schedules, and required posted documents were reviewed. Staff members have first aid certification and daily health observation training. Several are also certified in Medication Administration Training. Medication management was in compliance. Overall record keeping was in good order. Children were observed eating snack (bananas, teddy grahams & milk), participating in circle time activities, working on crafts, playing with manipulatives and interacting with staff members. Interactions were positive. Classrooms were focused on various themes. Children were learning about simple machines and planting beans. Personal hygiene is encouraged in the classrooms, as evidenced through hand washing procedures and the toothbrush sanitation machines/process. There were no violations cited today.
