The licensing representative discussed 22 VAC 185-500.B.3.c with the center director. A changing table must be used for children younger than three years, when changing a soiled diaper.
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted beginning at 9:15am and ending at 1:00pm. There were 93 children in care being supervised by 17 staff members. Children's ages ranged from four months to five years old. The children were observed participating in structured center play, reading, learning colors and shapes, and playing on the playground. Lunch served today is diced chicken, whole grain biscuit, green beans and milk. Eight children's records and five staff records were reviewed and in compliance. Eleven medications were reviewed and in compliance. There are currently four staff members on site who are MAT (Medication Administration Training) certified. The most recent emergency escape drill was conducted on 9/6/18 and the shelter-in-place drill was conducted on 9/10/18. The last Health Inspection was completed on 10/16/17. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-450-E Description: Based on observation, the mattresses in the infant classroom were not covered with a water-proof material that could be cleaned and sanitized. Evidence: One crib mattress in the infant classroom had a quarter size tear. Plan of Correction: A new mattress was replaced during the inspection.
