An unannounced monitoring inspection was done today 10/17/2018 beginning at 11:30 AM and ending at 2:30 PM. There were 52 children in care today not including the school age children. The children were observed during their activities such as playing , eating snack, art, lunch and swimming. Medication was reviewed. Five children and five staff's record were reviewed. This included newly enrolled children and hired staff. Discussion with director: grouping sizing, new requirement memo, and afterschool care.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-330-B Description: Based on observation, the center failed to ensure that all playground equipment had the required six foot of fall zone. Evidence: 1. Observed in the indoor playroom three pieces of equipment that required the six foot fall zone. One of corner pieces had less than three feet from the wall. All three pieces shared the same six feet of fall zone. Plan of Correction: The director stated that more resilient padding will be added to the space to ensure the six foot fall zone. Also a piece of equipment will be removed .
