Discussed Licensing Renewal process, and playground safety.

An unannounced mandated Monitoring inspection was conducted today from 10:15 to 1:15pm. Observed children outside playing soccer and on the playground, setting up for and having snack, circle time, singing songs, painting, and dismissal. Reviewed 3 staff files, 3 children's files, medications, emergency drills, and physical plant. There was an ample supply of equipment and materials for children. Violations of the Standards are noted on the Violation Summary. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-140-A Description: Based on record review, 1 record was missing a physical examination within one month after the child's first day of care. Evidence: Child#1 (start date 9/18/2018) did not have documentation of a physical exam. Plan of Correction: I will ask the parents for the information
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-60-A Description: Based on record review, 1 file was incomplete. Evidence: Child#1 was missing name, address, and phone number of two designated people to call in an emergency if a parent cannot be reached. Plan of Correction: I will ask the parents for the information
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-280-B Description: Based on observation, hazardous items were not kept in a locked place using a safe locking method that prevents access by children. Evidence: Disinfecting wipes were observed in an unlocked cabinet in 2 classrooms (Panda and Honey) and accessible to children. Plan of Correction: I remove the items and will ask the Church to get locks for the cabinets
