Thank you for your assistance during this unannounced monitoring inspection. This on-site visit was conducted on October 30, 2018 from 2:50 p.m. through 5:00 p.m. There were fifty-one children in the care of five staff. No medication is being administered at the present. Six children's and five staff records were reviewed and updated. Areas of non-compliance may be found on the violation notice. Areas observed were: arrival, hand washing/bathroom procedures, snack, table cleaning and sanitizing, and free choice activities in the gym. Interactions between the children and staff were observed as appropriate and the children seem comfortable with the daily routine and schedule. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-60-A Description: Based on record review the center failed to have a second emergency contact for one Child. Evidence: 1. Six children's records were reviewed. 2. Child #6 did not have documentation of a name, address and phone number for as second emergency contact. 3. The director confirmed the documentation was not obtained. Plan of Correction: The parent will be contacted and the second emergency contact will be obtained and documented.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-550-D Description: Based on record review the center failed to practice an evacuation drill for September 2018. Evidence: 1. Monthly evacuation log was reviewed. 2. There was no documentation for practicing an evacuation drill for the month of September 2018. 3. The director confirmed the evacuation drill for September 2018 had not been practiced. Plan of Correction: Monthly evacuation drills will be practiced and documented.
