An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today from 12:00pm-1:00pm. The inspector observed were 24 children directly supervised by 4 staff and parent volunteers. The physical plant, 5 staff records, 4 children?s records, 4 medications, evacuation drills, injury reports, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. Children were observed transitioning indoors from play, choosing learning centers to participate in to include: slime sensory play, a make believe pumpkin patch, play dough, and dress up. Diapering procedures were also observed. There was an abundant supply of materials for the children. Staff and children interactions were observed to be positive and constructive in nature. The center was clean and organized. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-510-G Description: Based on medication review, the center did not keep medication with an original, labeled container. Evidence: Child 4's emergency medications was did not have the original pharmacy label attached. Plan of Correction: A discussion was held with the parent during the inspection. The parent has agreed to provide the labeled box as soon as possible.
