Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted this date. A total of 48 children with 8 staff on site today. Observation of all four classrooms was conducted. The children in the two year old class were observed free playing with legos, the kitchen area and interacting with staff. In the three year old class, children were in structured small groups. Some were painting corn to make indian corn, staff were observed assisting children with making hand print turkeys with paint. Some children were free playing with the toys and equipment in the class. The four year old class was observed also in small groups transitioning free play to table activities that included painting filter paper shaped like leaves. Staff were assisting children with tracing the letter "A" and interacting with children on the carpet area with magnetic shapes. In the child care classroom, the children were observed transitioning from the outside play time to carpet time. Hand washing procedures were observed. Carpet time included a book read to the children by staff and also reviewing the month, day and date. Three medications onsite today. All authorizations found complete. A total of 3 staff and 5 children's records were reviewed and also found complete. Staff files are reviewed annually at the administrative office. Verification of first aid/cpr, MAT and daily health training was made. This inspection began at 9:40am and ended at 11:45pm. Thank you for your cooperation today. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-270-A
Description: Based on observation of all four classrooms, two classrooms have areas that is not maintained in a safe manner. Evidence: The base molding under the blackboard area in the three year old pre school class has peeling paint. The base molding under the front windows in the child care classroom has peeling paint.

Plan of Correction: We will repair these areas.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-330-B
Description: Based on observation of the playground, the resilient surfacing does not comply with the minimum safety standards. Evidence: The fall zones located below the swings and slides on the playground do not have a minimum of six inches of resilient surface underneath.

Plan of Correction: We had a delivery of new mulch last year. We will rake the mulch to reposition under the fall zones. We will maintain the resilient surface ongoing.
