An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted this date. A total of 22 children with 3 staff present during the inspection. Children were observed arriving to the program, placing their items in their individual bins and taking attendance. A nice transition from inside to the outside playground was observed. Bathroom procedures and hand washing were observed Staff were strategically placed in the programming space to provide appropriate supervision of the children in care. Children remained seated while they had snack. Snack today was cinnabars and milk. Children were observed in small groups drawing at table tops, reading books and interacting with staff. A total of 6 children's records were reviewed. Staff files are reviewed annually at the administrative office. CPR/First Aid, MAT and daily health observation training was verified on site today. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-510-C Description: Based on review of all medications at the center, the center did not follow their own medication policy. Evidence: Child #6's medication authorization for for Diphenhydramine does not include start and stop dates for this medication. Plan of Correction: We will obtain these dates from the physician.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-540-C Description: Based on observation of the first aid kit, the first aid kit did not include all required items. Evidence: The first aid kit did not contain a thermometer or antiseptic cleaner. Plan of Correction: We will replace these items.
