Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted this date. A total of 77 children with 15 staff on site. Programming in all five classrooms was observed today along with the playroom on the lower level. Children were observed sitting in a circle listening to staff sing and read books to them while staff changed diapers as needed. Hand washing procedures and diapering procedures were observed in both the toddler 1 and toddler 2 classes. A nice transition to lunch time was made. Lunch consisted of pesto pasta, sliced oranges and apples with milk to drink. Children's food allergies were known by staff and careful attention made to their individual lunches. The center was decorated with holiday art projects throughout. Some included painted scarecrows, pumpkins and decorated corn. Staff were observed assisting children to learn how to manipulate scissors. In the Pre-K class, children were observed cleaning up their individual activities and table top activities, lining up for the bathroom before lunch. Lots of family pictures were posted on the "My Family Tree" bulletin board. A total of 7 children's records and 5 staff records were reviewed today. All medications and topical ointments on site were also reviewed. This inspection began at 10:30am and ended at 1:25pm. Thank you for your cooperation today.
