An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted from 8:15am-9:45am. Upon arrival there were 23 children in care with 3 staff members. A sample of 5 children and 3 staff records were reviewed in addition to 1 medication. Children were observed doing puzzles and getting their breakfast.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-60-A Description: Based on a record review the center did not ensure all required information was kept for each enrolled child. Evidence: Child #1 did not have 1 of the 2 required emergency contacts. Child #2 did not have 2 of the required emergency contacts. Child #3 did not have 1 of the 2 required emergency contacts. Plan of Correction: The following corrective action was provided by the program director during the inspection: The director will have the parents add all required emergency contacts.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-510-A Description: Based on observation the center did not ensure all requirements were met when administering prescription medication. Evidence: There was an emergency medication for child #5 that did not have written parental authorization to administer. Plan of Correction: The following corrective action was provided by the program director during the inspection: The director will obtain a parental written authorization to administer today.
