Comments:
An announced initial inspection was completed on 12/05/2018. Present during the inspection were 3 staff members. The inspector reviewed and measured the following areas: classroom #15, the cafeteria, the gym and outdoor green spaces. The inspector reviewed the emergency preparedness plans, the emergency supplies and the parent handbook during the inspection. The licensing inspector discussed the licensing process and the Conditional License with the staff during the inspection. The inspector arrived for the inspection at 3:00 p.m. and departed at 5:00 p.m. If you have any questions, please contact Becky Forestier at 540-309-2835.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-540-E
Description: Based on observations and discussion with staff, the facility failed to ensure that nonmedical emergency supplies shall be maintained on-site. Evidence: There was not a working, battery-operated radio on-site during the 12/05/2018 inspection; there was a radio on-site however there were no batteries for the radio on-site and the radio did not work without electricity.

Plan of Correction: Batteries will be brought to the facility.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-550-C
Description: Based on observations and discussion, the facility failed to ensure that emergency evacuation and shelter-in-place procedures/maps shall be posted in a location conspicuous to staff and children on each floor of each building. Evidence: The posted emergency evacuation map did not include a shelter-in-place.

Plan of Correction: A shelter-in-place will be added to the map.
