A Subsidy Health and Safety inspection was conducted from 11:15 AM to 5:45 PM to review supplemental health and safety requirements. Today, there were thirty children, ages infancy through four years, with five to seven staff. Two school age children arrived at 2:45 PM for care. I viewed record keeping, operational responsibilities, food service, children's information, caregiver training, emergency planning and drills, hazardous substance practices, behavioral guidance, hand washing, five records for children, and seven staff records. No medication or food allergies at this time. A licensing inspection was conducted on the same date as the SHSI supplemental inspection; the two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. No violations of the supplemental subsidy health and safety requirements were cited at this time. New subsidy requirements became effective on October 17, 2018. The facility has not yet complied with the following requirement(s): TB statements for new staff are required prior to employment. Staff member 2 began work on November 20, 2018 and there was not a TB statement in the staff record. The facility is to review the new requirements and work with their assigned inspector to ensure future compliance.
