- Technical Assistance:
We discussed procedures for making sure all areas of the classroom are in safe condition to start the day, including electric outlet plugs. In addition, it was suggested that you use visual signs and/or temporary roping at entrances to play components of the outdoor composite structure to further communicate to children that the structure is off limits.
We talked about changes with your bathroom time routine. It was recommended that fewer children are taken to the bathroom while adhering to staffing ratios, so that the children do not have long waits inside the bathroom and have less program time. Also, we discussed your procedures for clothing changes due to toileting accidents.
Thank you for your assistance during today's unannounced monitoring inspection from 10:00 AM to 1:15 PM. Today, there were fourteen children, ages three through five years, with two to three teachers. I viewed program activities, staffing, supervision, interactions with children, equipment, posted information, menu/nutrition, injury report, emergency supplies and drill records, agency inspections, training for three staff, medication, five records for children, indoor and outdoor areas. The outdoor equipment remains off limits due to the need to replenish the mulch in use zones. The children have participated in learning theme activities such as for clothing and building. The staff were observed providing positive interactions and attentive supervision. No transportation provided for children.
No violations this date.

The online compliance history includes only information after July 1, 2003. In addition, the online compliance history includes information regarding adverse actions that may be the subject of a pending appeal. An adverse action is not final until a provider has exhausted or waived all due process rights. For compliance history prior to July 1, 2003, or information regarding the status of pending adverse actions, please contact the Licensing Inspector listed in the facility's information. The Virginia Department of Social Services (VDSS) is not responsible for any errors in or omissions from the compliance history information.Virginia Quality is a voluntary quality rating and improvement system for early care and education facilities serving children ages birth through pre-K.
